Mount Mamdzyshkha rises above Gagra to nearly 1800 m and is famed for sweeping coastal panoramas. In clear weather the sea is visible far along the shore.
A mountain switchback leads towards the top, and paragliders launch from the meadow slopes. A stay in Gagra is handy for a trip to the viewpoints.
